What is indexing?

Indexing is a way to invest in a collection of assets without having to select them individually. The collection follows specific rules set by an index. In cryptocurrency, the most common index ranks all cryptocurrencies by their market value.

With this strategy, the index determines not only which cryptocurrencies to include but also how much of each to hold. For example, if you invest in the top 25 cryptocurrencies and one drops to 26th position, it's automatically replaced by the cryptocurrency that moved up to take its place.

Remember Luna? Even a top 10 cryptocurrency can suddenly collapse, leaving investors with significant losses. This is where indexing shines: the loss will be cut automatically, and replaced by a better performing asset.
